Nikkei Australia’s founding member Dr Keiko Tamura and Chairperson Elysha Rei will present a talk about Japanese ‘war brides’ at the Queensland State Archives in Brisbane.

This presentation will illuminate the stories and experiences of Japanese women who immigrated to Australia as war brides in the 1950s, marking more than 70 years since the first Japanese war bride arrived in Australia in 1952.’

This event is jointly hosted by the Japanese Consulate-General of Japan in Brisbane and the Queensland State Archives.
